Our projected distance is just under 50 ft. The lens was $1.8K but was necessary for the facility we installed it in. We paid just under $5K for the projector without the lens. The price was very reasonable since it was nearing the end of it's production run. I recommended this projector to replace a current aging projector in an auditorium setting at the University I work at. I've found it more reliable to see the glow of the lamp showing through the lens or the back grills, especially when we've blanked the screen. The "Lamp" indicator only slightly dims when switched on (the power lamp remains on whether switched on or standby) compared to standby. Another negative of this projector is that it's difficult to tell whether the projector is "on" or "standby" by the indicator lights. An additional VGA splitter helps send a 1024x768 Laptop VGA signal 60 metres away with excellent picture quality. Now we can run 1024x768 resolution with no issues. The problem was solved by connecting a VGA splitter which boosted the VGA signal from the PC.
Whilst our previous projector (Hitachi) was able to handle a 800圆00 resolution from the PC 20 metres away this projector was producing a very wavy image.
The projector also gives you the option of switching off "On screen displays" to give a more sophisticated appearance when blanking the screen or switching video sources.Īny Problems: The projector is fussy about VGA signals. Our previous projector kept warning us of clogged filters every now and again. Whenever the filter clogs up a little the projector will automatically scroll the filter to a fresh new portion. The 10,000 hour auto-scrolling air filter ensures that air flow is maintained consistently over the filter life. Focus, keystone and lens shift all operate via remote control so there's no need to climb to the ceiling for adjustments. We can run the projector with the vertical blinds left open during the day (although angled away from the screen) which is great for the Church atmosphere. On a large, 4m x 3m screen the picture quality is hardly any different to what is seen on the LCD monitor from the PC. We've had this projector for 3 months now.
